Peng Chau Challenge 坪洲環島泳賽 2025

Peng Chau Challenge is an Open Water Swim Race to be held on 7th October 2025 (Tuesday, The day following the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival) at Peng Chau Island, a 0.99 km2 tranquil island with 6,000 inhabitants. The race has 3 distances to choose among: around the entire island 5.5km, around half of the Island 3.4km and around quarter of the Island 1.7km.

Swimmers will have the opportunity to swim in the clear water along the shore of Peng Chau Island. All finishers will receive a souvenir! Thanks to Active Brand Asia, all early bird registrants will receive both THINKSPORT Sunscreen SPF 50 3oz (HK$139) and Parakito 6H Beauty Sprays (anti-mosquito) (HK$185), totally over HK$300. All swimmers who register between Sept 18th and Sept 20th will receive either THINKSPORT Sunscreen SPF 50 3oz (HK$139) or Parakito 6H Beauty Sprays (anti-mosquito) (HK$185).

坪洲環島泳賽為公開水域泳賽，將於假期2025年10月7日（星期二，中秋節翌日假期）在坪洲島舉行。坪洲島是一個面積0.99平方公里、人口6000人的寧靜島嶼。比賽有三種距離可供選擇：繞島5.5公里、繞半島3.4公里和繞島四分之一1.7公里。游泳者將有機會在坪洲島沿岸清澈的海水中暢遊。所有完賽者將獲得一份紀念品！

Peng Chau Sports Center has toilets, showers and changing areas.

Finishers medal, water and snack will be provided.

Baggage Drop Service 行李寄存服務

Bag drop service is available during the race. Please do not place valuables into your bag.

Event organiser takes no responsibility for the contents of any bag, for theft or loss of property.

Medals/prizes 獎牌 /獎項

Medals/prizes will be presented to the top 3 participants in each AG category. 組別頭3位泳手將獲獎牌 /獎項。All podium winners will receive zone 3 goggles.

All racers who complete the race will receive a finisher medal. 完成賽事的參賽者可獲完成賽事獎牌。

Proof of Competence 參加資格證明

Proof of competence is required for all 3.8km and 5.5km swimmers. During the registration, please upload proof of (1) your previous 1km+ swim race record within the past three years (less than 3 minutes 15 seconds pace per 100m( 3.4km) / less than 3 minutes (5.5km) or (2) the Cross Harbour time trial results. 3.4/5.5公里游泳選手需提供及上載過往3年内游泳活動的參加記錄，以證明參加資格: (1) 3.4公里游泳選手1千米以上的游泳比賽記錄，每100米時間平均不多於3分15秒/5.5公里游泳選手1千米以上的游泳比賽記錄，每100米時間平均不多於3分，或 (2) 維港渡海泳水試時間合格證明。

About Peng Chau 關於坪洲

History

According to historical records, Peng Chau has been inhabited since the Neolithic period. The lime kiln industry thereat started its development in Han Dynasty. Lime kiln industry played an important role of Hong Kong modern history.

坪洲為不足一平方公里的小島，從繁華的中環船程只需半小時可到達。坪洲充滿休閒舒適鄉土風味，擁有山徑及海灘，具有傳統歷史的廟宇以及漁村的風味，與繁華市區形成強烈對比，加上本地各種具有特色餐廳和食肆，實屬週末度假的好去處。

歷史

據史料記載，坪洲自新石器時代起已有人類居住。坪洲的石灰窯業始於漢代，在香港近代史上扮演著重要的角色。

*Participants will be given bags to store their flip flops and staff will transport to the finish line. 參賽者將獲得一個袋子，用於放置拖鞋。比賽工作人員將把袋子運送到終點線。

*Swimmers who would like the medal/prize mailed after the award ceremony will be charged a $80 processing and mailing fee. 參賽者未有出席頒獎而要求補發獎項將收取$80處理和郵寄費用。

*The schedule is preliminary and is subject to change. Actual time will be announced 4 days before the race via pre-race notice. 所有時間為暫定及可能修改。實際時間將於比賽前天於比賽通知電郵發給參賽者。

Rules and Regulations 規則及條款

Participants are required to meet the following cut-off times.
- 1.7km Swim Race: 70 mins
- 3.4km Swim Race: 115 mins; 1.7km checkpoint: 55 mins
- 5.5km Swim Race: 135 mins; 1.7km checkpoint: 45 mins
No one should join the race unless he/she is physically fit, and in excellent health condition.
Participants may be asked to provide proof of competence. Failure to do so will not be allowed to participate in the race.
Participants must obey instructions to kayakers, helpers, and personnel of the race. Failure to do so will not be allowed to participate in the race.
Participants will take full responsibility and safety during the race.
Wetsuits, fins and paddles are not allowed in the race.
INFLATABLE SAFETY BUOYS are mandatory during the ENTIRE race. Racer can self carry or order one during online registration.
